Whether you’re looking for a stopover or are simply short on time, this Santiago stopover package is for you. Forget about high rise towers and business centric locations. Experience the charm of Santiago on this stopover package in the delightful Bellavista neighbourhood. Included in this stopover package are all the standard inclusions you’d expect so you don’t need to worry. As with everything we do, this Santiago stopover package can, and will be fully tailored for you. This is a taste of what you could do, and what we’ve done ourselves.
We’ve included a great into to the city and based you in the beautiful neighbourhood of Bellavista. Where is Bellavista you might ask? This lively and quirky neighbourhood is located directly at the foot of the San Cristobal hill. Bellavista spans several blocks filled with bohemian culture, some amazing food and a great nightlife. Many describe Bellavista as an artsy, busy area with its own unique charm. Ending on the bank of the Mapocho River, the neighbourhood is an easy walk from downtown. Flights arrive daily from Australia into Chile, making it a great stopover destination before exploring the rest of Latin America.
Like any big city, it’s impossible to see all Santiago has to offer in three nights. However as this is a stopover package, we think two nights works well. Sleeping in a great bed for a few nights allows you to reset your clock and relax before your next destination. Our Santiago stopover packages comes complete with:
You don’t need too much of imagination to know where the hotels local name of “The Red Castle” originates. The Plaza Mori forms the courtyard of this special little gem we enjoyed in Santiago. The iconic hotel was originally built in 1923 as an elegant private home. The elegant home quickly became known as a meeting place for locals and visitors alike. In 2013, it was lovingly re-imagined as a boutique hotel. Complete with original furniture, restored fireplaces and light fixtures. The design elements are true to the style of the 1920s and staying makes you feel quite special. Today, Castillo Rojo offers all the modern comforts and luxuries, including 19 individually climate-controlled guest rooms, a wine bar, and two exciting restaurants.

Have a glass of wine on the romantic terrace overlooking Plaza Mori, enjoy breakfast in the sunny garden or relax with a coffee on the plaza and let the exciting world of Bellavista surround you. The neighbourhood is famous for its live music, theatre, fine restaurants and exciting nightlife. Located just one block from the Pablo Neruda House, Patio Bellavista and the Funicular to the summit of San Cristóbal Hill it’s a great base for our Santiago stopover.
We often see city tours advertised in stopover packages that are nothing more than a ticket to a hop on hop off bus. That’s not for us. We instead pair you up with a local guide who will give you some local insights on Santiago. It will just be you and them for the morning or afternoon, so you’ll get to ask as many questions and learn as you go. Taking a half a day tour with your private guide is a great way to acquaint yourself with the city. After that we leave you plenty of time to explore on your own – and get some rest, it’s a stopover after all.
