Every year on the 1st of July (a few days earlier than their American counterparts Independence Day) Canada celebrates the anniversary of confederation, Canada Day! Originally named Dominion Day, it wasn’t until the mid 1950’s when the Canadians really started to get the party started and renamed the day Canada Day. Over the years the celebrations have grown with a public holiday, fireworks, parades and lots of special celebration events across the country. Canadians are a friendly bunch so we thought we would join in the celebrations and do something special for our Australian guests on Canada Day.
